Naomi Watts doesn't approve of the Oscars

Naomi Watts, who received a Best Actress nomination for her role in '21 Grams' in 2004 says she doesn't believe filmmaking should be about, "competition" and says that she also dislikes the amount of campaigning that goes on during the build-up to the Oscars.

 

"I'm not going to lie, it's nice to get recognition from your peers. It means a lot. But I also feel one's work shouldn't be judged against someone else's. It's not a competition. You get asked to do an enormous amount of publicity to promote your chances and I don't necessarily think it works. It isn't what acting and making movies is all about. When I wasn't nominated for 'Mulholland Drive' in 2001 everyone kept saying 'Oh, sorry you're not nominated', when the thought of being on the shortlist hadn't even crossed my mind in the first place".

 

The 80th Academy Awards are due to take place with a star studded ceremony at California's Kodak Theatre on February 24 but rumors are still rife that the traditional glitzy ceremony will not take place because of the Hollywood writers' strike.

Pamela Anderson wants to start a lingerie line

Pamela Anderson says she wants to be a successful entrepreneur with a line of sexy lingerie and body care products.

 

It is not yet known however when the products or the items will hit the stores but she is interested in doing a show about the whole process of creating them.

 

The actress was spotted at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida recently revealing most of her boobs as usual.

 

She showed up on the red carpet in a pair of white shorts and a yellow flowery top that was a little see-thru.

 

Pammy said, "I am going to sit back and create a line of lingerie and body products, products that are really sexy and things that I love to wear and my friends love to wear. I also want to do a show about creating those things".

Kylie Minogue seeks suitors on Google

Kylie Minogue who has been single since splitting from the French actor Olivier Martinez  says she often logs on to Google to check out potential suitors.

 

She said, "I can't lie. I did it with a friend and she would out me! I can't tell you who I did it with though. I simply cannot reveal this information at this time".

 

Kylie shares her Google love search technique with her sister Dannii.

 

Dannii confessed, "I have a crush on a singer called Robin Thicke. I saw him singing on the 'American Idol' finale and his song really stuck in my head. I typed his name into Google and was really upset to find out he is already married".

 

Kylie is now back on the dating scene after being single for nearly a year.

 

She said, "I enjoy dating, so I'm not totally alone. Don't worry about it. It's not that long ago that I came out of my last relationship".

 

Rumors are rife Kylie hit it off with British TV star Matthew Horne, who acted alongside her in a series of comedy sketches for 'The Kylie Show' which was an ITV special filmed to celebrate her 20 years in pop.

 

Matthew gushed, "It was amazing working with Kylie, incredible. She's so fit! She's even better looking in the flesh than she is in her videos. She really is".

 

Matthew also admitted that he sent the 'I Should Be So Lucky' singer a bunch of flowers and his phone number after they met on the show last November.
 
 

Madonna spends $10,000 a month on bottled water!

The 'Like A Virgin' singer reportedly can't get enough of a $5 a bottle water and makes sure she always has a regular supply to hand.

 

A source close to the singer told America's 'In Touch Weekly' magazine, "Madonna drinks a lot of water and that's one of her fitness secrets, and Kabbalah water is the only stuff she will touch. She also makes sure she always has some to hand, and has it regularly shipped to wherever in the world she is staying at the time".

 

A description of the blessed water on kabbalahwater.com reads: "The Kabbalistic blessings and meditations that are used to create Kabbalah Water bring about elegant and balanced crystalline structures in water, while negative consciousness has an opposite effect. Some leaders from the Kabbalah Centre are said to have claimed the water has the power to cure diseases including cancer and AIDS.

 

Madonna has been a devout follower of Kabbalah, which is a mystical offshoot of Judaism since the late 90s. In 2006, it was revealed that the 49 year old singer, who has a seven year old son, Rocco, and a two year old adopted son, David, with husband Guy Ritchie plus an 11 year old daughter, Lourdes, from a previous relationship had spent $2.4 million promoting the faith around the world in the previous four years.

Mariah Carey and Jennifer Lopez - the feud continues!

Mariah Carey says that she would "rather be on stage with a pig" than sing a duet with Jennifer Lopez.

 

The 'Hero' singer denied rumors she was planning to collaborate with pregnant J.Lo, saying it would "never happen".

 

This isn't the first time that the diva singers have clashed. They first crossed swords in 2001 when Jennifer sampled two songs from the soundtrack to Mariah's movie 'Glitter' in two versions of her own hit track 'I'm Real' for her album 'J.Lo'.

 

An insider on the set of 'Glitter' said at the time: "Mariah was so paranoid about the music getting out that we had another singer sing the temporary versions before the film was released. When Jennifer Lopez's album 'J.Lo' came out and had the exact same song on it, we knew she had a right to be paranoid. We couldn't believe her audacity".

 

Shortly after the scandal, Mariah was interviewed for German television and was questioned about fellow divas. When asked about former 'Destiny's Child' singer Beyoncé Knowles, Mariah complimented her beauty and talent. But when she was questioned about Jennifer, Mariah looked incredibly uncomfortable and said, "I don't know her".

 

The feud was recently reignited when Mariah was told that Jennifer sleeps eight hours a night. She cattily laughed, "If I had the luxury of not actually having to sing my songs, I'd do that too".

Reese Witherspoon refuses sex scene

Reese Witherspoon is refusing to film a sex scene with Vince Vaughn and the pair have reportedly been clashing constantly on the set of the romantic comedy 'Four Christmases'.

 

An on-set source told the New York Post newspaper, "Reese has an issue with the scripted love scene. It is meant to be a funny, 'American Pie' style romp, full of bumps and laughs, but Reese is such a prude, she thinks it's just too much".

 

In spite of being an Oscar winner and the more highly paid Hollywood star, Reese is unlikely to win the argument as Vince is one of the film's producers and he also oversaw much of the script writing.

 

It has previously been reported that Reese was unhappy with Vince's behavior on set because while she is keen to work hard and film on schedule, he allegedly turns up to work hung over, forgets his lines and is constantly fooling about on the set.
