Charlize Theron hates being a celebrity

11/27/07 07:40 AM by Michael

The Oscar winning actress Charlize Theron says that the biggest downside to doing the job that she loves is being constantly in the public eye.

She said, "I don't like celebrity. I don't like this whole culture that we're living in now, and I don't like this casual attitude that if you decide to be an actor then your life is up for grabs. It's just not nice to go and get your groceries and have seven cars following you. I think I am becoming a little bit more closed off because of it".

The star of 'Monster' also insists she is "absolutely loving" being 32, because she has been on a "search" of self-discovery.

She told Total Film magazine, "I'm 32 and I absolutely love it. I wouldn't want to go back to my twenties in a heartbeat. Life is a big old fuc*ing mystery, and I'm ready to go and experience it. I don't have all the answers, but it's great to feel that being in my early 30s I have been on the search and we all need to be on that search".

A source close to Kate said, "Kate wants someone who will look after Lila solidly for the next few years. We all joked about her looking for a Mrs. Doubtfire type but she said that's exactly what she is looking for!".

In the movie, 'Mrs. Doubtfire', Robin Williams plays a father who is estranged from his children and dresses up as an old woman to become their nanny and does a wonderful job.

Donna Karan just announced that Kate who is 33 will be the new face of their Spring/Summer 2008 collection.

Karan said, "She's wild and sexy and somebody who has the energy to hang out in the streets and to dance. She is a woman who would have lived in that rawness but with a polish at the same time. The clothes don't wear her, she wears the clothes".

Jessica Simpson wants a "real" man

11/17/07 08:18 AM by Michael

The 'Dukes of Hazzard' star Jessica Simpson, who divorced former boy band singer Nick Lachey last year says that she is done with boys and now wants a "real" man with a "cute butt".

Speaking on the US chat show, 'The View', Jessica said, "As far as boys go, I don't need them. I want a man, somebody who's a really great family guy. Like if a kid were to come up to him and tug on his shirt, he'd pick him up and twirl him around. I definitely love a family man, a guy that's not afraid to pick up the babies. Somebody that wants to meet my grandparents immediately. I think all those characteristics are what make a man attractive. And if he has a cute butt, that's all right".

She was invited to co-host the program but is said to have enraged its bosses by plugging her new fashion range rather than discussing current affairs.

A show insider said, "She never intended to be on the show as a moderator. It was all a big plug for her label. Jessica barely even talked to the guests".

However, Cindi Berger who is a spokesperson for  'The View', said, "Jessica was graciously invited to co-host and the show allowed her to unveil the Jessica Simpson collection".

Angelina Jolie talks about her nude scene in Beowulf

11/12/07 07:38 AM by Michael

In spite of her busy schedule, Angelina Jolie always seems to have some time to promote the movies in which she stars.

Although she's currently been acting in a new Clint Eastwood directed movie entitled, The Changeling, Angelina took the time to attend a recent Los Angeles press conference for Beowulf, which will be released nationwide on November 16th.

Beowulf was produced using cutting-edge computer animation and the actress says that her simulated nude scene in the movie made her feel a little "shy" and that she was "surprised at feeling that exposed".

"I called home, just to explain that the fun movie that I had done that was digital animation was, in fact, a little different from what I expected. I didn't expect ourselves to come out as much. I didn't expect it to feel as real, and so because of especially the type of character I play, it was kind of funny at first".

Catherine Zeta-Jones denies being anorexic

11/02/07 06:26 AM by Michael

Catherine Zeta-Jones recently denied suggestions that she is anorexic, saying that her slimmer figure is down to a healthy diet and exercise.

A seemingly dramatic weight loss caused concern when she appeared at the Beverly Hills' Hollywood Awards earlier this month.

Catherine, whose once curvy figure attracted many admirers, said, "My husband Michael Douglas was laughing at me. He told me what people had said that I'm anorexic. Do I look anorexic? How could I ever, ever be anorexic? The only reason I have lost a bit of weight is because I'm working out and not eating what I usually eat!".

The Welsh actress who has two children, seven year old Dylan and four year old Carys, with Michael also said that she considers Hollywood's obsession with weight to be "unhealthy".

She told People magazine at the Savannah Film Festival this weekend, "There are many women who are maybe a little fragile when it comes to their weight, and it becomes a huge issue".
